Hello wonderful Soroptimists!
Are you “warm bread with butter” or “cheesecake?” We know… if you attended the GWR Leadership Training Retreat in August! Governor-elect Lori created a great weekend and many materials are now on our GWR website for your club use. Thank you GE Lori! At the LTR, Fundraising Chair Vanessa shared a fact that still shakes me to the core. Did you know that we – the organization who has the MISSION to improve lives – tell 78% of eligible LYDA applicants “NO.” We tell 3 out of 4 women who reach out for our help “no” – the same response many have heard all their lives. It breaks my heart. We must change that!

Come to your upcoming 2017 Fall Meeting and learn how you can say “YES” in easy ways so every woman who reaches out has a positive experience through our organization. There is still time to do a quick "fun-raiser" to support your members' attendance! Also, to help with retaining our members, we are excited to invite your newest members to a “New Member Welcome” breakfast at each Fall Meeting! New members will receive an Evite invitation in their email if they’ve joined since July 2015! Please come to your Fall Meeting and enjoy the next level of fun, fellowship, and information about our “One Mission!”

Soroptimists Celebrating Success Awards recognize outstanding projects and best practices of Soroptimist clubs in each of the four pillar areas supporting the SIA strategic plan: fundraising, membership, program and public awareness for work in the 2016-2017 year. The forms are due to our SCS Region Chair, Liz Glowka by September 30, 2017. Soroptimist Celebrating Success Reminder: we no longer use Program Focus Reports!
